Principles of my Educational Therapy Practice
- Provide interventions promoting literacy that enable the child to access education across all curriculum.
- Learn about the child’s interests, feelings, experiences, and views to respect the child’s individuality and promote positive sense of self.
- Empower the student and parents to work with me to make decisions
about the best interventions that will help the child function in natural
settings.
- Work on the child’s areas of weakness while identifying and helping the
child develop his or her strengths.
- Teach organizational skills and help the child choose ways to organize
himself or herself to maximize learning and independence.
- Encourage the child to reach for higher levels of mastery and deeper
levels of learning as sequential increments of mastery are achieved.
